York Art Gallery Landscape Project

We have been working with York Museums Trust on a project to redevelopment disused land to the rear of York Art Gallery to provide new landscaped gardens, external exhibition space and public square. There will be a new publicly accessible route through from Exhibition Square to the Museum Gardens, creating a complete link from the Exhibition Square, past the gallery, through the new space to the St Mary’s Abbey ruins, Museum Gardens and the Yorkshire Museum and back again to the city centre.

Gelder Harvey Architects has been appointed as project manager for the whole project, as well as providing architectural services in dealing with alterations to the existing gallery building.  The project is currently on site.
